Tests proved that the C-A-T completely occluded blood flow of an extremity in the event of a traumatic wound with significant hemorrhage. The C-A-T utilizes a durable windlass system with a patented free-moving internal band providing true circumferential pressure to the extremity. Once adequately tightened, bleeding will cease and the windlass is locked into place. A hook and loop windlass retention strap is then applied, securing the windlass to maintain pressure during casualty evacuation. Reliable
I really like these. I have actually used one and they do work. Be sure to snug the strap up good and tight before you start twisting the stick. Yes the orange is overpriced compared to the black ones, but I buy the orange ones anyway for one simple reason: on the rare occasion that you actually need a tourniquet, you need it immediately. You don't want to be wasting time rummaging around in your medical kit looking for it. The bright orange makes it easy to find in a hurry.

North American Rescue is the one !!
I have done a lot of training with a few brands of tourniquets and North American Rescue has always held strong. N.A.R. has done the research and field testing required to save lives. there are a few types of C.A.T. s on the market. if this is the style you prefer - don't go cheap!! go N.A.R. there are many Asian knock-offs. I've seen one bend and another break. don't trust your life to one of those.

I've never had to use it yet, but I've used them before at the emergency department I work at, and they do exactly what they're suppose to in a very simple and fast manner. I hope to never have to use my own tourniquet on myself or anyone, but I feel a bit safer knowing its always with me.

Great lifesaving device no matter the circumstances
Great proven product always a good tool to keep on you or readily available in a car or go bag or even your first aid kits. Hopefully you will never need this product but come a time you might alway better to have it available.

This should be the standard tourniquet color. Hi viz helps when you need it.

Learn how to use a tourniquet and have this on hand!
I took a “stop the bleed” class and immediately came home and ordered 2 of these- one for the car and one for home. They are true lifesavers and so few people have them!

I'm a fan of the color
I'm a fan of the orange color for finding it quickly if I'm in a hurry. Since receiving training, I'm now carrying these in several locations (work, car, hiking, etc.)
