Z-probe for 3018 pro.
Z-probe was shipped fast. Was touching a tool off within 10 minutes of opening package.Plugged in to A5, opened candle, went to Service/Settings and in the probe command line add on to the end G92Z1.64;G0Z2The Z1.64 is the thickness of your probe plate in mm. As far as I know this applies to the 3018 pro but might be same for others.Once that was done I clipped gator clip on tool and put plate under bit, hit the probe icon and it came down for initial hit and then a slower feed for 2nd check. Disconnected probe, set workpiece on table and tested an nc file quick.Worked perfectly

Much better then the 14 mm think one for 3018 prover
I don’t have the z clearance to use the think z probe that came with my machine. I tried to make one off of a aluminum 90 deg stock I had but too much wavy in the material due to the forming of the 90 deg from the mfg. was going to make my own till I saw these. Works great as I need a accurate measurement for my production parts so I don’t countersink too deep or not deep enough.

I’m still using it, but wouldn’t recommend
The item does what it proposes to do. However, the contact pad is basically just a PCB and has no mass. It will not sit flat on your work surface. I ended up having to use hot glue to adhere it to an aluminum block. Also, one of the leads failed in fatigue right at the connector. I had jst connectors so I could make another, but, I suspect most people would not. I added some liquid electrical tape, sold in big box stores, to the new lead to allow some strain relief.I would recommend most people spend the extra $20 or $30 and get a decent unit.

Company appears to have UPDATED the product
The height probe that I received appears to be an updated version. Instead of the lead wire being surface soldered it now goes into a plug connector with the plug terminals being soldered directly through the board. A very solid design that appears to be durable and should last for a long time.

Too light to be of use.
Because this is so light, it does not sit flat on the bed and so it gives inconsistent results. I bought a heavier metal block version to use instead.

Easy sensor.
Just hook it to the proper posts and it works.

Doesn’t last
It worked great for a couple of times. (I only use my machine on occasion) went to use it this past time and it couldn’t read. I about ran the bit through the touch plate and it never read lol. Don’t buy this touchnplate if you want more than three uses out of it. And yes I checked all the connections. It just seems to have failed.
