Great Product
I bought this knife after deciding to take my cooking to the next level, and by this I mean, no longer cutting with dull knives. Knowing that proper cooking requires a myriad of knives, I did not want to start my knife collection with a $50-100+ knife. I just cannot afford that right now. Further, I know that proper knife care requires learning to use a honing rod (misnomer!!) and a sharpening stone. It just did not seem right that I learn my skills on an expensive knife (I know a $50 knife is not an expensive knife, but it is expensive for me.)When I came across this knife, I was both excited and a little weary. "A knife for $10!" "Just how good can a $10 knife be?"Let me tell you, it is very good. It came wrapped in bubble wrap and sheathed in a handy plastic sheath. It was very sharp. My only complaint is that about half way up the knife, there was a dull spot. Examining it closely, I noticed that it was just not straight. 20 swipes with my homing rod fixed that. I can't wait to dull it so I can try the stone!!!!If you are thinking of getting this, get it. Also, get yourself a honing rod, sharpening stone, and a nice cheap knife roll. Knives do not stay sharp in drawers. And I do not trust the cleanliness of knife blocks.

My Best Kitchen Knife
I have a Chicago Cutlery bread knife that I was fortunate to find when I was working overseas, and I really like it, so when I was shopping for a chef's knife, this one caught my eye. The price was very reasonable and attractive. So far the edge is holding up well despite my mother-in-law's abuse. I like the heft and feel, not too light, not too heavy. I like the solid construction, full tang with three rivets. I don't give five stars for anything short of absolute perfection, and this knife has earned them. One thing I try to remember to write in every review, if I had it to do over again knowing what I know now, would I still buy it? Most definitely.

Pretty Good
It's not the sharpest I've ever used but it's a good knife for the price. It sharpens up really nice so as long as you have a wet stone or sharpener you're good to go! I really hate cutting into whole butternut squash and large sweet potatoes but this knife passed the test and made it a whole lot easier.

No rust and sharp
Satisfied with the quality compared to the steak knives I purchased from the same brand (Chicago Cutlery). No rust. Sharp. Lightweight.

Proud 10 year Chicago Cutlery owner
If I could give this 3 1/2 stars, I would. But after having it at a 3 stars, I wrote my review and figured that was too low so I rounded up!I got my first CC set over 10 years ago. I loved their products! One night, while putting away the dishes, my hubby dropped my 8" chefs knife and the tip broke. Before I had a chance to find their contact info (lifetime warranty), my hubby threw it away. No biggie. I can just buy one on Amazon and have it here in two days! I searched through Amazons selection and found what I thought was the exact same knife! The reviews were wonderful so I bought this one and another 8" just incase. When the package arrived, it was like my birthday! I opened them up and held them. They were considerably lighter than my old knife! I've been in café management for a long time so I know what a quality chefs knife should feel like! These weren't completely flimsy but not the quality I am used to.On the plus side, they were very affordable and SHARP! I might have to save up for a quality set but I have a feeling these will last about 5 years.

Surprised how much i like this knife.
This is a cheap knife i bought for work. (Im a cook) Wasn't expecting to much from it, purchased based on price alone.I'm used to 'ergo' handled knives, so when I got this I thought the handle wasn't going to be large enough for my hands. Then I realized I was holding it wrong. Going back to culinary school days I remembered you wrap your front two fingers around the top of the blade. You have a much more controlled grip this way. Also the last ½ inch or so of blade isn't sharpened so you don't risk cutting a finger. My favorite thing though, is that the spine of the blade and handle is completely flat. That way when you're don't cutting veg and turn the knife over to scrape the board there are no gaps. Even very fine dices you miss nothing. Could never do this with a 'ergo' handle knife. The blade is sharp, but the edge doesn't hold perfectly. Run it on a a steel every other day, and you're golden.Never going to buy a $100 knife again.

Yea! a sharp knife at last!
I really like this knife and I desperately needed one that I could hone and have sharpened. Plus this handle fits my small (5.2") hands just as well as my husbands' . I'm bad about putting knives in the dishwasher and I do it even though I know I'm not supposed to. It hasn't seemed to affect the handle or blade at all. So, value for money it's a pretty good deal. I cook a lot but by no means am I an aspiring chef. So if you want a super high quality knife, this might not be your cup of tea. But for the casual cook, this is a good knife.

Chop like a chef! Live this!
This has become my favourite knife in the kitchen. It chops everything effortlessly. We have used it for more than a year. It holds up great. Even in dishwasher. The guard is perfect for storing. The price was fantastic.

Solid knife for under $10 (on sale)
I got this knife on sale for under $7, and it can't really be beat for the price. I personally prefer ceramic knives, but those are typically more expensive. This 8-inch knife is perfect for cutting tougher veges (beets, sweet potatoes, etc.) or meats - it's sharp and functional. I wouldn't personally pay over $10 for this, but its still worth it under $15.

Value for money
A really sharp and comfortable to use chef knife. Be really really careful, this is super sharp. I have gotten 3 cuts in the first 2 days of use.I cook a lot and its just crazy how sharp it is. I am actually keeping it in the sheath that it came in.

Perfect for Students and Amateur Cooks
I am positively impressed. I am just getting into cooking as I am a student and trying to live more healthy. Hence why I don't want to spend 60$ on a knife, but this is definitely worth the 10$ and comes in a nice package as well.
