We needed a Bluetooth speaker for our new playground area and ended up going with this model due to the solar power option. The connection works from farther away than I was expecting and it has been outdoors in a shadier area and we have never had to recharge it!Pros:- Better sound quality than expected!- Long range connection- Charges efficiently in shady area - never plugged in to get additional chargeCons:- Design looks very much like a speaker and not a part of the landscaping

The speaker has great sound at a reasonable price. Love the look and the solar charging. I use it with and indoor Amazon Echo paired to the unit outside on the deck. However after about 2 months it stopped working. I contacted Alpine support and was treated to a new replacement unit once I provided a couple of pictures and a short video of the unit not working.Well done Alpine!

This speaker is great for outdoors. It stays charged as long as the solar panel is placed where it gets full sun. I bring it in when I know it is going to rain just to protect it, but It has been out in the rain a few times and held up fine. It connects really well and seems to have a good distance. It will connect when I am in the house so I have to be sure to disconnect it on my phone. It easy to move but the sound seems better when placed higher up like on a table. I would but this speaker again.

Was looking forever for a waterproof, solar speaker so I can just set it and forget it all summer. I charged this the first day I got it in mid May and haven’t touched it since. Sound is not going to blast away, but great to have on my deck and enjoy while in pool. Bluetooth not the best but also have never had an issue connecting. Cannot be to far away from source but still good distance.And it’s Alpine, nuff saidTremendous speaker!

I did not buy this to bass out the neighborhood. I did not buy this to host a dance party. I bought this to put out on our back deck by the pool to have some tunes to listen to when we have a small gathering for a BBQ, or for when my daughter and her friends swim. For these purposes, it is perfect. It's solar power, so no cords to hide. And when you leave for vacation (as we recently did) you pick it up & put it in the house. It's lightweight, it's simple to set up & use (I didn't even have to read instructions on it) and the sound quality is good.If you're looking for something loud - go for a DJ set up, or wired speakers. If you're looking for the music to be in the background, this little guy is my suggestion. I've had it about a month, and have had zero issues. It's been out in the rain, the sun, Kansas 105 heat (before the heat index, which made it closer to 120) and it still "rocks" out. : )

This thing is useless; it is designed to be outside and to connect with your phone. The problem is that in order to connect Bluetooth phone to it you have to be right next to it. That would not have been a problem if it needed to be done once, but the thing is, it has to reconnect every single time you want to use it. What’s the point of setting it into my landscape when I have to go right up to it and climb over all my plants in order to connect to it?Second issue: whatever Bluetooth version is installed in this (I believe it’s 4.0, we are at 5.2 now) it is miserable! It keeps constantly disrupting the music which means it’s not strong enough. For example, I am floating in my pool with my phone, 4” inches below the landscape surface and this speaker looses Bluetooth signal. Immediately! Like a clockwork. I tried it many times. I can raise the phone above the landscape surface and here we go, it works again. What is this?Third: 50 feet range? Alpine, you should get sued for this misrepresentation! 20 absolute max and I am already loosing Bluetooth signal.You are all better off with a $50 Bluetooth speaker than this.I am incredibly disappointed.

This speaker has been great. I charged it one time use it almost every evening. The solar panel has kept it charged since the first charge. It’s not the loudest, but it sounds good.

Was hoping for a better sounding speaker especially for the size and weight, it is not a little speaker.....but the solar and bluetooth seem to work fine, easy to charge outside and connect my phone And I like the flintstone style. Mids are okay but good bass and clear treble are missing, so yes, think nice am radio. Needs to be on the dirt and loud for any lows so don't put it on a table. I will keep it for the solar charging and the looks and use for some things but not the most musical speaker in my collection.
