Creativity Street Multi-Cultural Dimensional Masks, Assorted Designs, 24 Pack (AC4653)

DO NOT try to paint these figures with metallic paints! They rub off and get all over your hands. Use only permanent magic markers. With that warning, I'm ready to recommend these masks. The Egyptian one is especially fun and the results look good, but be careful of the crown of the hat--leave some space for a central stripe. The noses aren't easy, and I wish the instructions had been more detailed. But the forms were enjoyable to work with.After our big autumn costume party at church, I gave the leftover blank forms to the Sunday School, and the kids can have fun painting them in whatever colors they like!

I read other reviews before purchasing these. Many people felt that they were too thin. Having made quite a few printed mask designs, I know that there are production limitations such as the weight of the paper that must go through a printer, or in this case perhaps a die cutter. Knowing that they were thin was helpful in that I didn't have high expectations. However, I also knew that part of the art process would be assembling them, so I instructed students—not to worry, to keep any parts that accidentally tore off, as we would be taping everything anyway. These masks produce a lovely three dimensional character, and show off the design and coloring of the students. The price and quantity can't be beat.

We used them to decorate a multicultural board and they worked great, but if you planned on using them as a mask, I would look elsewhere.

These were great for a class project I did with my students. Good quality paper and enough variety for students to have choices. They would also be fun at a kids party as a project.

I will buy these again. I used them in my art room for a project. My students loved creating these masks. We used a stapler to make them more dimensional.

Absolutely Perfect - The masks fit the adults in my class perfectly, we decorated with markers, hot glue and lots of crafty items. Great product, thanks! The paper could be a tiny bit thicker for longevity, but held up OK for our purposes. One student glued two masks together to create a sturdier base.

The masks are made of cardboard stock paper that is too thin to paint. When we painted them they rolled in on themselves and didn't hold their shape when they dried. Using markers, crayons and pasted paper cut outs to embellish the masks worked best for us.

Bought these for a craft table at a holiday multicultural party. They were as described. Good quality for decorating (though not so much for wearing). Kids enjoyed.
