Met Saxon before
I had met Saxon before in one of the other books written by Radclyffe called “Fated Love.” You won’t be disappointed reading that story either. But it was the first book where I heard this name and I am glad to know more about her. I don’t know Radclyffe writes these stories like she does. There may be some similarities in the settings, but the stories are different. How the MC and LI find their way to one another is another story entirely. I am hooked each and every time. Although Saxon reminds me a bit like “Sylvan” from the “Midnight Hunters” series and “Pearce” in “Turn Back Time.” I can’t tell you how much I also liked Jude. I liked her background story. I liked how her heart crumbled and she let Saxon in. I liked how each of them came to the realization about love.“I still know you’re here Jude, I still feel you on my skin.” “….I won’t let this come between us. I’ll always know where you are.” Sax says things like this.Pam Arnold had me nervous for a while. I wasn’t sure how her character was going to play out. I would like to read about her in book to come, if it has not already been done. I found her striking, just not for this story. Her character remains intact and ripe for her own story.I would have liked to know how Maddy felt about the documentary and how it was portrayed. It was supposed to be about Deb, but it had Sax stamped all over it.

Reading it the second time was so worth it!!
***Updated Review***I am so happy I read this book again because I knew I was missing something the first time around. I was compelled to read this a second time because when I read it the first time I knew that something about it was different from her other books. This story was very intense and you are not dealing with your usual femme needing the brooding butch or tortured butch needing the calming presence of a femme. No way, both of these women were Alpha's and tough as nails. They complemented each other well and this love-story was just simply different. I got a strong vibe from her other book, Fated Love, similar to that book also in a hospital setting with two strong women, the romance took time to build in a very romantic and passionate way. The intensity between Sax and Jude here was/is just as palpable between Honor and Quinn in Fated Love. Sax and Jude did not fall into bed immediately, Rad slowly got us there and it was worth the wait. Sure, the sex scenes were nothing new, tame yet still hot, lots of passionate conversation during the act itself. It was the release of actually getting to the sex that was so damn good! You say to yourself, "YES!! FINALLY!!."Rad's writing is superb as always, she never fails to make those connections with her leads and bring you into those moments. She is a true romantic, and I was amazed at all the moments I missed in the book the first time around. My favorite line from Sax to Jude, " I want to abide in your secret places and catch your tears before they fall." Oh my...swoon. I was so gone after reading that, cried on the spot. This one did have it all, passion, excitement, drama, and again the hospital drama did not overshadow the romance and was just right. Again, glad I gave it another shot and found the things I missed the first time around. 5 stars!!!!

A rare reread for me
I agree somewhat with reviewers who say this author writes the same story with different locations and characters but in this case I don't care! She got this one so right for me. Very good at creating sexual tension that starts very low and very slowly builds to characters acting upon it. Loved the trauma chief! The filmmaker was certainly likeable but not as strongly independently developed - she seemed to be exactly whatever the Dr needed at the moment, in a way. Still I respected and liked her and was pulling for her also. Such a delicious tension between feeling the want between them, independently and unsure of the other's feelings, but not satisfying it quickly or being given any guarantee it would ever be satisfied! The delicious tension was a main player in this story, for me. Both characters are a bit of atypical superwomen but I didn't mind - I think part of a work of fiction is to create a mood, an environment, a feeling, and/or to provide a backdrop against which to play out issues; since it's fiction I care more about the thoughts/feelings it evokes in me than the perfect creation of characters, to a certain extent. After starting a new book at the end of this one, my thoughts were still circling around this story and I couldn't help myself but to come back to this one to savor again :)

This a Bright Entry in Radclyffe's List
Saxon Sinclair is a brilliant trauma chief is told she will allow a documentary filmmaker, Jude Castle, into her trauma unit. The sparks fly between the two women.Whether you read Radclyffe's series books or you read one of her stand-alone romances, you can not go wrong.I have been reading lesbian fiction for many years, and can honestly say that I have never come across a writer that has so affected me. Her characters are strong, intelligent, and romantic. Naysayers will say that Radclyffe's characters are too perfect almost never flawed - either in looks or character. That may be true, but aren't you tired of the genre's penchant for ordinary? Radclyffe's characters are always enchanting, intoxicating, enticing, and intense. The stories, particularly in the series books, are all first class. Most of her series books are page-turners. And in two of the books, I actually turned to the last page to make sure that the main characters survived - something I never do.Radclyffe let us believe, at least for the duration of each of her books, that the grand passion, the true love, the happy-ever-after are all possible. She lets us believe that being a strong, intelligent woman does not mean that we will be alone and/or isolated. The only caveat I have is to read the series books in order. And if you enjoy watching a writer grow, then read the non-series books in the order they were written and watch Radclyffe's talent grow before your very eyes.

Excellent Medical Romance
A dramatic setting, strong characters, and a great plot made this a fabulous read. - 5 StarsSaxon Sinclair heads-up a busy trauma centre, and she’s used to calling the shots, so when the decision to grant permission for a documentary to be filmed in trauma unit is taken out of her hands, Saxon is not best pleased. However, Saxon finds herself intrigued by film director, Jude Castle, and the more time she spends in her company, the more intense the attraction becomes. This is a recent re-read, and I enjoyed it just as much on this occasion as when I first read it several years ago. It’s a typical Radclyffe novel, featuring strong, accomplished women who thrive under work-pressure but are far less assured when it comes to personal relationships. In this case, the tension is increased because both Saxon and Jude have experienced things in the past that they much prefer to keep hidden.Passion’s Bright Fury remains one of my favourite Radclyffe novels. As with all Radclyffe’s novels, the interplay between the two leads sizzles with tension, and there’s plenty of passionate exchanges. Great range of secondary characters, and a thrilling ending to this one too. Fabulous!

Fave Radclyffe book
I read this book yeeeeears ago over on Academy of Bards. It is my all-time favourite Radclyffe book and one I've reread plenty of times over the years. It has all my fave things - slow-burn, enemies to lovers, SO much romantic tension and masterful characters and storytelling. I can never get over that club scene, it's just URGH. This reread was just as good as the first!

Excellent!
Ok Radclyffe is an exceptionally talented writer and seems to love the suspense and the thrill of the ride. The book is worth every second of your time reading it. It takes you through the highs and lows with formidable ease but always leaving you with what's going to happen next. Awesome author and you won't be disappointed. You will be definitely looking for more.

I have read and enjoyed a number of Radclyffe's books and this one certainly did not disappoint . The storyline as always was excellent and the character s make you want to share their story. Hospital based but with a different twist it will appeal to all Radclyffe fans.
