My dog loves this
I got this bed because my dogs loves to be covered up and it was the cheapest. As of now, I am thrilled with it. It's been out of the box 30 minutes and she's only left it to go outside. The materials aren't the greatest, but they are appropriate considering what I paid. I like the fact that I can take out the stuffing and wash it. That being said, the stuffing isn't too great. It's lumpy and doesn't have much of a shape to it. My dog doesn't seem to mind at all. I can see myself replacing it with something more sturdy in the future, but it works for now. I was a little concerned about the size based on other reviews, but it is about the size I expected. I have a 12 pound chihuahua/terrier mix and she fits perfectly inside. The front does not always stay open like in the product picture, but I find that has to do with where your pet sits. If the dog goes further in the back it will stay up. If it sleeps more towards the front it will probably sit right on top of their nose and look adorable. It lies flat when it is not occupied. My dog is good at burrowing, but right now I don't think she totally understands the bed (sometimes she's not too bright). I have to lift it up for her to get inside. I am confident that she will learn how to do it herself given some time. I wish I could post pictures with this to give a better idea of the bed. I've taken several because my dog is adorable and the bed is adorable and her plus the bed equals the cutest thing ever.

A cool product, but not working for me. UPDATE: Working out
I have an Italian greyhound who loves to cuddle and snuggle under blankets. I thought this would be great for her. However, I should have thought out the use of the bed further. My dogs stay in the main part of the house when I am gone. They have several dog beds. My flooring is wood throughout, and unfortunately, the cover on the pet cave is rather slick material. When I got home the first day the bed was quite far away from where I put it, and none of the dogs would go near it. My guess is they tried to get in the pet cave and it slid across the floor, scaring them. I have put it on the sofa or the bed, trying to get them to use it, but they all seem to be quite afraid of it. If you are going to use it on a wood or tile floor, you will need to add some sort of non-skid material to the bottom.*****UPDATE: Since this bed is somewhat slick, my Westie decided it would be fun to drag it around. Unfortunately, the plastic tubing now has worn through the fabric because of his antics. The GOOD NEWS, however, is that I set it on an old, non-slick bed, and the greyhound will get in it. She prefers a blanket on the couch, but will get in the bed if that is not available. Oddly, she curls up in a ball, with her head and rear end down in the back of the pet cave and her back exposed! I'm just grateful it wasn't wasted.

Purchased for a 16 lb Shorty Jack
My JRT loves to burrow under the blankets and I had been looking at other covered beds that were about 3x the cost. I thought I would try this one first to see if she would even like it. I immediately washed the cover upon receiving and it washed and dried nicely with no obvious shrinking. The cushion was easy to reinsert. While the cushion itself is large enough,( she is 25" tip of nose to base of tail) the opening is tight for her and she usually just lays on top. She likes the cushion though and I have unzipped the top cover a few inches and she pushes into it. She has adopted this one over a larger uncovered bed. We have had it a few months and it is holding up well even after a few washings. The batting flattens but can be fluffed. I will keep looking for one with a bigger opening, and hopefully not made in China, but she is happy with this one for now.

I love the concept, but the outer material rips and tears easily.
I purchased this bed for my my little cold natured chihuahua/dachshund (chiweenie) dog's Christmas gift and he loves it.The pros: My dog loves it's warmth and comfort and I like that it has a zipper to remove the inner pillow for washing. The cons: The plastic tube that supports the opening pokes holes in the outer nylon material (red in this photo) so I removed it. Little Buddy likes it just as well without it propped open. It's more like a sleeping bag for him. He burrows right in and sometimes we can only see the tips of his nose and tail sticking out. So, that's not much of an issue for us but, that red nylon material is coming apart at the seams after only 2 months use. I will not buy another to replace it because I'm sure it would do the same thing, but I am going to take this one apart to use as a pattern to make one myself. Because the plastic tube that supports the opening is not necessary for my little Buddy, I can use heavier microfiber or fleece type fabric for the outer material and go back with the sherpa type inner fiber for the warmth and comfort he loves. Over all this is a great idea, but a product is only as good as it's materials and this just didn't hold up. I do not recommend for this reason.

It Really Is Small, but...
I had been contemplating for months about buying this dog bed for my Whippet. I finally took the plunge. When I received the bed, I was shocked at how small the diameter of the bed was in real life. (While shopping for this bed, I knew it would probably be too small for my girl, but she loves to burrow into anything and everything, so I felt that I had to get it and see.)Anyway, it's ridiculously small for my Whippet, who is petite by breed standards. With that said, she LOVES IT!!! She manages to curl up her long legs and wrap herself up in herself on that bed. The "cave" part is a zip-up hoodie. I do have that mostly unzipped so she could lay down on the entire surface.I wish I could post a photo here, so you could see how small it is, in comparison to her, and yet she can still curl up on it.I was going to return it, but everyday, she is lying on it, so I am keeping it for her. The low price of the bed, in comparison to other dog beds, is a large factor for my reason to keep the bed for her.If you have a small dog or a perite medium dog, and they love to burrow, you could consider this bed as a decent value.

Dog cave
My dog just loves her new bed she cundies into it every night and hardly moves all night. Very pleased with it.
