Adjust the flow and it's great
I really like this fountain! It arrived yesterday and I'll try to come back to leave feedback about how exactly my cats like drinking from it.When it first arrived, I was pleased with the simplicity and happy that my cats can't get their paws into the water tank. I wish it was a bit heavier to keep my roomba from moving it too much. It's solid though with a full tank. When I first turned it on, I was pretty unhappy with the super bubbly, splashy fountain. It went way too fast and high. My cat was scared of it. That's when I remembered the switch I saw on the pump. We turned it down all the way and now it's the gentle flow that I was hoping for. I did see my cat get a drink and stick his toes in the flowing water, so I think he approves. The surface area of the water is plenty for a thirsty cat to get a drink, but small enough that I'm not too worried about them being able to dig a bunch of water out of it. That was the problem we were having with our regular stainless steel bowl. I do wish it had something less porous than plastic for bacteria reasons, but I think with regular maintenance it'll be totally ok.As far as quality goes, it's pretty basic plastic. I imagine it'll last as long as the pump holds up. There really aren't any small pieces to break.

Nothing but the best for my cats - have some bubbly!
These are all the rage for spoiled cats who just don't like plain, boring water sitting there collecting dust. I have fussy cats, so I picked this up to try to see if it would be as amazing as their favorite, post-shower water. It arrived neatly and securely packed, with easy to follow instructions to assemble it after an initial washing. I appreciate the extra filter. I set it up to watch it bubbling nicely, and... The cats drank out of their normal water bowl while looking at it. Apparently to them it's an art installation. Perhaps with enough time I'll convince them to actually drink from it...

Updated review
I have left my first review at the bottom of these comments so you can see my initial reaction. Unfortunately, my joy did not last. The longer I had it, the more water is threw out. It became a nuisance. My cat quit using it and I had to keep a pan under it to keep it from ruining my floor. Plus, you then had to refill it more frequently. It became more trouble than it was worth and I went back to using a bowl. It might work for a gerbil or some animal that likes to shower but not a cat and not on a wood floor.First review: My cat at first was afraid of it because the water would splatter a little. But then I put it outside on the porch where her main water bowl had been and she got the hang of it. So much so, that when I went to clean it, she got a little upset. As soon as I set it back down and plugged it in, she was there making sure it was OK. Great price, simple operation, and they tell you, it's going to last 2 to 4 years. I like that. However, if I had more than one pet, I would buy a second and even a third as the reservoir is good for about 4-6 days before refilling but would obviously go quicker with more or larger animals.

Pump Stopped Working In Under 2 Months
Received May 1stI loved this at first. My cats LOVE it, Jazz actually chews me out if I take it apart to clean. Well, low and behold I wake up earlier to 3 very angry cats because it not working at all. Thought it could be the outlet, nope. Pump just stopped working.Manual states 1yr warranty on Pump but have found 0 information about it so far. I am so upset as now they are back to a regular dish and I need to scramble to find a better made one or keep looking for how to replace this damned pump. I got this after we lost our then youngest to a UTI as vet listed water could have been a factor... plus filtered water is better than our water in the building.

Best $12 I have ever spent on any pet product !
I have a cat who has been crazy about drinking out of the faucet for the last few months, he will sit next to the sink anytime we go in the bathroom and cry till we turn on the faucet. I thought this may be something he might use. He loves it, so does my other cat. It is very easy to set up, the noise from it really is no louder than a regular fountain. My cats took to it in about 15 minutes or so, and last night he spent most of the evening close to it, watching it and drinking from it. This morning there was a little water on the mat that is provided but I believe it was more from my cat playing in the water than splash over from the fountain. He likes to smack at the water bubbling up. Ive suggested it already and will possibly get another one for my bedroom since he likes to sleep in there.

As described
We adopted a partially blind cat who needed a running water source to drink from. This was perfect. She was instantly curious and drank from it within minutes. It holds a decent amount of water and is very easy to set up and clean. It also has a long power cord. It does splash out of the unit a little bit, but it comes with a rubber mat so no complaints here!

It splashes A LOT. The rubber mat that comes with it traps water underneath.
It isn't quiet but it does make the same sound as a meditative water fountain so it's not that bad. However the splashing was very bad. It took the cats months to actually use it. The dog wasn't picky but very few are when they come in fresh from a walk. We could not find the middle ground on water level. Too little water and it barely moved. Too much and it was soon on the floor and spreading quickly. We purchased a large "saucer" for potted plants from a gardening store to place it in the middle of to catch all the water that burbled out. This worked out fine. For the price: this was a decent buy but that rubber mat merely held the water to the wooden floor underneath before we got home from work to discover it. Take the extra precaution we did with purchasing the saucer and it will be fine.

first time my cat has drink from something other than a bathroom sink
my cat refuses to drink out of a regular water dish. He harasses everyone in the house wanting them to turn on the bathroom for him to drink water. So my daughter suggested I check into a water fountain. I ordered this water fountains because it wasn't very expensive. And immediately my cat started drinking from it. It's amazing I absolutely love it.
