I didn't buy this for a fishtank, I bought it to keep beer fermenting at constant temperature in winter.It did a good job for a 600L batch. Ther heater gets really quite hot to touch. In the future I think I'll get one with plastic casing because having glass worries me.It was very affordable and saved my brew so thums up from me

I got this for the winter months to use in my fancy goldfish tank. I needed the temp to be around 20 degrees Celsius. I set this heater to the lowest (20DC) but my water is over 24dc. Not ideal. It does heat the water quickly and would probably be very good for a tropical set up. Sadly its useless for me and I'll likely be returning it due to how inaccurate the temp monitor is.(I used 3 seperate temp monitoring devices which all said 24dc even though I'd set this at 20dc).

My fish are happy now they're in warmer waters. I like the temperature control which is handy

When I need my tank to be at 24 degrees, and I set it to 24 degrees, it is more like 22. I need to set it 2 degrees higher to get my desired temp, not a problem, just something to work on

The Hidom heaters are good quality heaters, also they are great value for money!Very efficient, and gets the water up to temperature pretty quickly! It also maintains the water temperature at a constant level.I like the fact that when you turn the adjusting knob on the top it shows the temp from inside the heater with a red bar, as opposed to on the top like others. Saves wear and tear!All in all, I would definitely recommend getting these if your after and effective and I expensive brand! Ideal for first time fish keepers!
