Yes, there are knobs for speed control. The control stick itself is sensitive and you can control speed that way as well.

Q: can i attach 100' cord?

It ships with custom cable to the head provided by the manufacturer. I think they are shipping 50' cables currently. Check and see if they can send longer ones. We had one replaced and customer service was excellent.
