An option in place of a dash mount
After having tried several dash mount phone holders, not liking the cup mount because I wanted my phone at eye level, I purchased this. I was happy that this product gave me the height I wanted and it easily is installed into your CD player. My only complaint is that it was hard to stabilize because my car has a volume dial underneath that it hits. Once I was ableto get the stabilizer far enough down, it has stayed in place. I have experienced the magnet not always holding the phone securely enough but that has been when the roads were bumpy. Overall thisproduct has worked for me and if there were improvements made that would allow a better fit in my car, I would even purchase the updated model.

Phone remained attached during a wreck!!!
Hear me out. Sadly, I was recently on a MVA where my car went airborne and slammed back on the ground. Once I stopped skidding on the road/grass I thought, I need to call my wife and emergency services. I look up to my dash and my phone is ATTACHED to the mount. I have no idea how since everything inside my car was misplaced. I took the mount itself but did not have time to remove the 3M tape the mount uses to suction onto. If this does not convince you to get a sleek looking mount that'll secure your phone through a crash I don't know what will. It would be cool to get a replacement 3M tape since my car is totaled and I cannot retrieve the tape anymore.

Magnet Awesome but Forget about Wireless Charging
This is exactly what I was looking for, a minimalistic phone mount for my phone.Keep in mind that if you own an iPhone, the magnets on the back won’t be enough to hold your phone due to the pattern the magnets are arranged, allow me to elaborate:In your iPhone the magnets are arranged in a circular shape, but the mount’s magnets are arranged in a very small oval-like rectangle, so they barely overlap, leading to very poor strength, which won’t hold your iPhone. This problem is solved by adding the metal plate they send you with the mount BUT that plate will prevent your iPhone from wirelessly charging. Now it’s a matter of how often you wirelessly charge your phone and if you’re willing to do the trade off. Hope this helps.

Fantastic
This product works great! I am so happy I chose this magnetic car mount. I have tried several different cell phone holders, but none of them worked. Wrong size, wouldn't stay mounted or couldn't be mounted the way I needed in the right spot. The only one that ever came close, was one that attached to my air vent, but that really limited the air flow. Not a good thing with some heat! So I decided to give this one a try and I'm so, so happy with it. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a magnetic cellphone holder.

Not real good for rough dirt roads
This phone holder works perfectly as long as you don’t hit a chuck hole and if you are not driving rough dirt roads. It does stay attached to the cd slot but my phone keeps coming off or rotating on the magnet surface. Buy it if you are a pavement pounder only!

Good product.
It is a solid, Wirecutter recommended, product. Make sure you get a case with sufficient metal to hold it! The insertable metal plate is good, but any bumps or rough roads won't hold the phone well. Looks great.

Does not work through a Casetify (iPhone 12) or Otterbox (iPhone 12 Pro Max)
My wife likes to occasionally drive home and Facetime us. She will set her phone up on the console of her car so we can see her, but I wanted to get something that would be more stable. As we do not use our CD players, this seemed like the perfect solution to get a better angle. My wife's Casetify case is not overly thick by any means, but the magnet on the device is weak. It would hold the phone but the easiest of turns sent the phone either sliding off or to a useless angle. I have an Otterbox Defender (I believe it's the XT model...it has a smooth back) for my iPhone 12 Pro Max. The device didn't hold onto it at all...in fact, little 6mm x 2mm magnets held just as well to it.Sure, there are two included plates you can attach, but the instructions indicate it could interfere with wireless charging and to use to the smaller of the two on the bottom of the case. The magnet does not make me comfortable with that. Perhaps I should have bothered with those, but the magnet itself doesn't make me feel confident about the success. This was a bust for us. I was pretty excited about it too. Maybe mine was defective and the magnet was just a dud. I'll just go with a suction clamp mount instead.

This just does just what it promises to do. Sticks well and stays on too. All parts work very well.
This is one of the best ones I have used. I always liked Scoche brand and like it so it was hard to consider another brand. When I got this it was easier and worked better than I ever expected it to. Its a great product!

Amazing!
Works really well. Its stuck to my dashboard properly and holds my phone properly without any small plastic bits to prop it up. The black magnet that came with it wasn’t the greatest, but the square magnet works wonders! I put it between my case and my phone and it doesn’t budge when I’m driving.

Think twice if ordering this for larger phone.
I choose this device because it looks Slimline. I have a large phone A Galaxy Note 10 plus. I put the metal plate at the base of the back of the phone. However the magnetic force is not enough to keep the phone in place during driving. The phone will slowly rotate the left or to the right especially if there is any type of bumping. When the phone rotates enough then it will reach a tipping point and simply fall off causing a potential accident. I wrote to the manufacturer and told them about this and they felt sure that it was because the metal plates supplied were defective. They sent me new metal plates but it made no difference at all.Having tried several other magnetic holders in the meantime then I now believe that I know what the problem is. Most other magnetic mounts appear to have four strong magnets and their mounts but this mount only has two magnets. That means half as much hold and two magnets stop the phone rotating less than four magnets.I believe that if you have a smaller phone or if you mount the magnetic plate in the middle of the back of the phone this isn't so much of a problem. However if you have a larger phone like me and because of the layout of your car you want to mount the plate at the bottom of the back of the phone then this can lead to a dangerous situation where the phone falls off the mount. Or at the very least the phone will slowly rotate while driving causing you much frustration for example if you are trying to use the navigation app.I actually like the quality of the product but I get the feeling that it was engineered when smaller phones were fashionable. The manufacturer needs to update the design and also take customers seriously.
