UPDATE: I'm still wearing this pair (daily) as of 2019-01-14. I ordered another pair because they're starting to stretch out, but until the adjuster runs out of room I'm still wearing these. So far they've outlasted any other suspenders I've had by multiple times and they're still going.These are the ones you have been looking for. (I think). They're perfect, so far, and one reason I know this is that I haven't thought about them once since I put them on the first time, until I got this email from Amazon asking how I liked them. I wear them every day. My pants haven't fallen down. Usually I throw my (other, cheaper) suspenders away because the clips wear out, and usually after just a few months. There are a couple tricks to make them last a little longer: One they begin to fail, clip them over a belt loop; it's thicker and it holds better. When they begin to fail again, you can bend the clips to make them hold tighter, but make sure you've ordered another pair as they're not long for this world. The clips on these, however, appear to be made of sterner stuff. I expect them to last much longer - years, maybe.

Rating suspenders should be an automatic five star if they do the job and the clips don't break. Right? These would probably would have received five stars but I've only used them a few days so durability is something still to be proven. The reason I'm giving a review before the durability has been proven is the smell. They have a smell similar to formaldehyde. I took them off and hung them outside to air them out, then I sprayed the suspenders with glade odor fighter, (similar to fabreeze). Better but after a few hours the smell seemed to come back. Washed with fabric softener and room dryed which seemed to work, at least I'm not getting sick from the smell. Time will tell, if the smell returns then I'm sending them back. I'll air them out again just to make sure the smell is gone. Shouldn't have to do this with a new product but I like Amazon and usually every thing I get is 5 stars.

Great suspenders if you have heavy pockets in work pants. I could not find the size when I bought them. They are 2" wide and heavy duty. They are not petit for dress pants. L would buy them again.

I find the workmanship to be good. And if you're looking for "wide and sturdy" these are the suspenders for you. However, these will definitely be for jeans and not for dress. Wider than I thought - should have looked more closely at the width posted in the description. My fault. However, I'm only 6' tall and I have to adjust the straps all the way down. It barely works on me. I suppose they could stretch over time, but I would not recommend these for guys over 6'2" or so. Other than that, they do the job.

For years I have been struggling with suspenders that require constant adjustment and still had problems holding up my pants. But I rather suspect that this is no longer the case. Just looking at them I can see the quality of materials is more than just a cut above. The metal used to make the clasps is thicker and sturdier than any other I have seen. The elastics are wide and distribute the weight without cutting into my shoulder. I've only had them a week but the difference is so obvious that I can definitely tell my search is over.

I tried on suspenders and started to smell an odor that was from the fabric. I soaked suspenders in dish detergent and the metal clips rusted turning the water brown. I soaked clips in lemon juice then scrubbed with tooth brush that took off rust. I dried suspenders on a fan with the clips up to prevent more rust. Future will tell how they last.When I had suspenders on I had them completely extended to fit me and I am six foot so for somebody taller I would say be cautious.

These suspenders have a couple things going for them. They're a full 2 inches wide, so they don't dig into your shoulders, and the clips that attach them to pants seem plenty strong enough to avoid the dreaded accidental separation. Unfortunately, they also have a couple of attributes that could be reason to pass on these and keep shopping. First of all, they're pretty short for suspenders intended for adults. I'm a long-waisted adult 6 feet tall, and I wear these fully extended; any shorter and they try to cut me in half. The fact that I don't need to make them shorter is a benefit in my case, because the adjustment slides just aren't up to the same quality level as the clips. After just 3 wearings, one of the adjustment slides doesn't lock any more, so making them shorter is out of the question.I'm sure these suspenders will last me a good while, but only because they happen to be the perfect length at their longest adjustment. If I were any shorter, they wouldn't work at all.

Great holding power and good looks BUT!!! They have a very noxious odor to them that caused me to hang them outside for 4 days before I could wear them, the reason for only 4 stars. It was such a bad odor I thought it could cause damage to my body if breathed in. I hope I am the only person that found them this way because I feel like there should be a warning label on them.

Wore the braces once and they came apart and are unable to be fixed. You get what you pay for.
