Better than Mark 1 and Mark 2 IMO - 5 stars
I used to be a Blackhawk dealer about 20+ years ago, so I've seen the progression of Blackhawk gear in that time. Some of the older stuff is still relevant today. So I'm not saying the Mark 1 and Mark 2 devices are bad, I'm just saying this Mark 3 catch is better. This Mark 3 catch is more compact. It is more user friendly with the molle-type webbing and it comes with the speed clips. If you've priced the speed clips on Amazon, they are not cheap at a couple bucks each. IMO this is the best catch I've seen so far. I have seen several, and I like the looks and feel of this one. I'm using Matrix Arms upper on my platform, and the rail easily fits in this catch. I can jam my weapon in straight down thru the top or I can bring it around thru the "mouth" of the catch. My stock has a quick-tatch, quick-release button hole in the stock, so I have a second attachment point to the stock, and the weapon is very secure. So, my weapon rests on the catch at the mag well for one resting point, I have the stock secured with the button, and I also have a single-point custom sling attached to the end plate on the lower receiver. Overall, very secure IMO and experience yet very very quickly accessible. The design stays true to shape and is NOT flimsy. Actually more on the side of being quite rigid if anything. If you need a catch and have a sturdy vest to mount it to, this might be for you. I encourage you to have a pretty solid vest/carrier to mount this to or you might not be happy with the catch, but it will not be the catch's fault you didn't buy a good vest/carrier. I have a compact special-purpose platform that I carry, and it works great. Just remember if you have a full-size AR you are running, you better have it secure by at least 2 points and maybe 3 (be like me, lol) or the d@mn thing is going to flop around on you! I paid up for this. About $38 plus tax. Not for the faint of heart or pocketbook. What are you going to trust with your life? You decide. 5 stars.

Weapons catch
This product was shipped quickly with no damage to package or product. After some adjustments to the use of this I learned that it can come in really hand when you need to be hands free. The trick is adjusting it on your belt or molle set up in order for it be convenient. It comes with the two different type of attachments: molle or web belt. The instructions are simple to follow and the product itself is made of a heavy metal that is adjustable with some effort. Good product.

Battle Belt worthy
I have limited space on my battle belt so I'm very picky about what I put on it. I mounted this on the back of my battle belt and am glad I did. If I need to move my AR out of the way, I slide it around to this keeper and my hands are free but it remains immediately available to me when I need it.

Really Don't See the Purpose
I see no use for this practically, other than to weigh down your vest, fall off, and/or catch on things.

... and I have to say I am a bit disappointed. The metal that creates the C clamp is ...
I have used this for several days and I have to say I am a bit disappointed. The metal that creates the C clamp is not very bendable, and as a result I have to struggle to get my Scar-L inside it.The whole reason I got it was to be able to quickly switch from my main to my sidearm, but it takes maybe 15-20 seconds sometimes to secure the rifle. The strapping is very intuitive, with both ALICE and MOLLE adapters, but that just makes it even harder to attach the MOLLE to a vest, and frankly I am not used to using this new MOLLE plastic stripping, so I feel that this can fall off if I jostle it too much.Overall, this isn't a bad purchase, maybe someone who uses a thinner rifle will have better luck with it.

Not a practical solution
I like Blackhawk gear and figured they would have a good solution for keeping my rifle contained when slung. This appeared to be a spring clip that you could use to hold rifle close and keep both hands free. All true except for the "spring" part. In fact, the metal clip is very stiff and you have to permanently bend this out in order to fit your rifle, at which point, at least for me, it was going to be so wide spread that it would be a nuisance catching on things. I ended up returning it and will probably rig up some sort of bungee or web strap.

not pictured
what I received wasn't the same as pictured. It is a flexible strap that snaps on using a buckle. I use it for airsoft and it still works great for mounting my gun parallel on my back. Customer service was top notch tho. I messaged her that night, and received 2 emails in the morning. Highly recommend seller.
