I have used these before. It looks like the packaging has changed but seems to be the same great item.These are wonderful and need support chewables that you take a few times a day at the on-site of just not feeling that great.Again, I’ve used this brand for many years and Lovett UMCA products.They taste fine. They are a little sweet so if that is a dealbreaker for you then maybe not this one but I don’t mind. I’ll take the benefits over a little bit of the sugar.Again I’ve used these for years and will continue to buy them!Thank you, nature’s way!!!

These are great. Medication is usually associated with side effects. Umcka on the other hand tastes good (it doesn't taste astonishing but doesn't taste bad at all, very easy to take) and has no side effects whatsoever. You just take it worry-free, even if you're not sure you're sick! These do run out fast when you're sick though so I wouldn't take these willy nilly (if you're sick it recommends taking 4-5 tablets a day and there are 20 in a box, you'd be out in a few days).From the umcka website - What are some of the symptoms Umcka® Cold + Flu addresses?Aches & PainsFever and chillsSore throatHoarsenessCoughChest Congestion / BronchitisRunny / Stuffy NoseSneezingSinus / Head CongestionHeadacheOut of these, I can so far (after using a box worth and on my second box) say that these effectively treat sore throat, hoarseness, cough, chest congestion, and runny/stuffy nose. I'm not sure about headache (I haven't had headache but I'm not sure if that's because of umcka) but I can say that these have gotten rid of my last sickness and is keeping my current illness at bay. It's preventing it from getting any worse and is helping the symptoms too. Don't take this as an expert opinion, but umcka seems to be just as good as guaifenesin (Mucinex brand) is at helping loosening mucus. I got some guaifenesin today and tried it instead of umcka and it doesn't seem to have any greater effect on mucus than the umcka did.Sambucus vs UmckaThis is something I really had no idea about when I was purchasing these two. There isn't much information on these two products (they should be more popular than they are). I tried Sambucus and Umcka side to side and in conjunction and can not see what the difference is (it's hard to measure short-term results).Sam Montana on knoji.com asked Nature's Way about Sambucus and Umcka and this is a portion of the reply he received."Umcka is not a product you use as a preventative it is used when a problem is present.Sambucus is a product that can be taken to help prevent a serious illness during the cold and flu season. I would look at using this product to prevent and use Umcka as a good partner if you do come down with something. Thank you"After reading this I found this to be true. Umcka may actually be better for relieving symptoms but Sambucus is better at preventing a cold or flu from ever starting or preventing it in the early stages.

It just works. My doctor says it passed medical testing. Take it when you feel the bug coming on and you won't get it. Doesn't do as much after the bug takes hold on your body.

My son had walking pneumonia for quite a while as a toddler, and over the years since, every single virus since has ended up in his lungs, coughs lasting ~6 weeks minimum each time (so, at least 3x/year, meaning he's spending almost as much time coughing as not coughing over time), and the doctors not able to do anything effective to help AT ALL.FINALLY took a chance on this - found it on clearance sale at my local grocery (was still almost 2x as much as on Amazon). I read a lot of research, so I looked at the research on it, which was ok (better than nothing, but not the best case scenario for research). Mommies can get desperate when allopathic medicine fails, and their child remains ill. BUT in the last 2 YEARS, this product has been (dare I say it?) almost a miracle cure for him, and everyone else I've had try it. My husband, a teacher, is no longer down with a ton of colds during the school year IF HE USES IT AS DIRECTED, and when he does get hold of a particularly virulent bug, he's over it SUPER FAST and it's much milder than it is with his colleagues who don't use this Umcka product. BUT YOU DO HAVE TO USE AS DIRECTED, so for adults, that's 4-5 chewables a day, for a day or two usually, AT THE ONSET OF SYMPTOMS. So, we buy this in multiples, to keep on hand for the family & neighbors, etc.
